The more so because, if I'm remembering correctly, Cosette was showing a great interest in my cousin Theodule the last time I saw her. For all I know she may have called to invite me to the wedding.
"If that's the case, I'm sure to get an angry voicemail from Theo within the next few days berating me for not answering messages."
He chuckled. All was right with the world when she was in his arms.
